In the Piece "Shaky Covenant," Niv Gafni attempts to cast spirit into a society of mortars and pestles.
Gafni disconnects the primordial object from its practical use and leaves the mortar empty of content, while the pestle is thrown over and over again mischievously, driven by a mechanical system.
The group of mortars and pestles create a polyrhythmic ritual, in which culture mortars itself to destruction.
